Born and raised in Warrington, Lucy completed her MBiolSci in Biological Sciences, specialising in Biochemistry and Microbiology, at the University of Sheffield. Her research focused on understanding the mechanisms of vancomycin resistance in Clostridioides difficile. Lucy is currently pursuing a PhD in the Grainger Lab as part of the MIBTP, funded by the BBSRC. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and adaptive responses in Acinetobacter baumannii, a multidrug-resistant pathogen of major clinical concern.
